More legs, more venues, smaller buy-ins – 2010 should be the year you make the GUKPT a priority.
New events, new venues but still the same GUKPT mark of quality. Now in its fourth season the 2010 GUKPT will be touring the length and breadth of the country distributing fame and fortune on a skilful few. With at least £200,000 earmarked for various prizepools the tour is certainly doing its bit to reinvigorate the financial fortunes of poker players during the testing economic climate.
2010’s Champion of Champions tournament will have at least £150,000 stashed away for the final few to wrestle over and a further £50,000 is being set aside for those GUKPT stalwarts to demonstrate the most heart and commitment throughout the season.
Indeed, not wanting to stagnate in the mire the organisers of the GUKPT have been quick to respond to the changing needs of the poker community and have added a new “mini-series” to their roster. In-between the main tour the new Summer Series will provide a condensed version of the £1K Championship events, offering the less chipped-up players a shot at glory with events ranging from £300-£750 between May and August.
If you’re still able to find time in your diary for even more GUKPT fun and frolics then the Club Championships are also making an appearance on the 2010 circuit. These events are a chance for the country’s smaller G Casinos to prove their worth by hosting these £200 one-day events. Although the tournaments have a smaller entry fee they are guaranteed to hold all the trademarks associated with the GUKPT.
