Popular poker room and online casino operator 888.com have announced the signing of French model-turned-actress Claire Renaut as the new ambassador of their pro poker team.
Renaut originally fell in love with poker after appearing on the first series of the hit TV show “Poker Academy Vegas” and soon decided to turn professional as a result of the experience.
She quickly began writing articles for one of France’s most popular poker websites and her growing reputation allowed her to write and host the “Las Vegas Poker Show” on RTL9.
Spending a great deal of time studying and improving her game while she continued to write, Renaut finally began her assault on the poker world in December of last year after taking down her first tournament at the Wynn, Las Vegas.
The result served to further build her confidence and, as Renaut began to play more events, the cashes started to roll in in 2010. This year she has already captured 1st place at the Irish Open Ladies Championship, a runner-up finish in the EPT Monte Carlo Ladies event and cashed at her first ever World Series of Poker in a $1,000 buy-in Hold’em tournament.
Clearly her global popularity and recent success has not gone unnoticed – and 888 were only to happy to seize the opportunity to add Renaut to a team that already boasts legendary Aussie cricketer Shane Warne and last woman standing at the 2009 WSOP, Leo Margets.
As a result, Renaut will now represent Team 888Poker alongside the pair at tournaments around the globe and will hopefully be able to build on her successful start to 2010 while wearing the colours of her new employers in this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event. |
